Swales

RAISING THE BAA OF SWALEDALE WOOL

The market town of Pwllheli is just two miles from the farm and it’s also within easy reach of the popular seaside resort of Abersoch.
SHEPHERD HUT

We wanted to give others the opportunity to stay in this stunning corner of Wales and experience Swales. To create the perfect place for people to enjoy, we built a luxury bespoke shepherd hut for the farm. Light, airy and boasting a contemporary finish, the hut offers sweeping views towards Carreg Y Defaid, Saint Tudwal’s Island East and Cardigan Bay.

The shepherd hut sleeps two and has a log burner for crisp Welsh nights. It can be rented on a self-catering or bed and breakfast basis and is perfect for luxury escapes throughout the year. Outside, you’ll find a wood-fired hot tub, a canopy swinging day bed and sensational views of the surrounding landscape.

STUDIO

New for 2021, our purpose-built studio is spacious, airy and easily accessible. Visit the studio to explore our beautiful handmade cards, pictures and Swaledale products. You can also learn about Swaledale sheep, the wool they produce and the work we do to promote this fantastic breed.

WORKSHOPS

Processing your own fleece is a great way to get close to nature and flex your creative muscles. Taking the fleece from its raw state to a finished product is a fascinating experience, and there are lots of techniques to learn along the way. All our workshops take place at the Swales Studio with extensive views over the Snowdonia Mountain Range and Cardigan Bay.

Workshops are suitable for beginners as well as those with experience working with wool.
Workshop dates to be announced.

SWALES EXPERIENCE WEEKENDS

Join us for a weekend here at Swales. Stay for two nights in our luxury shepherd hut, meet the sheep and enjoy a guided tour of the farm. During the weekend, you’ll have the chance to process wool, get creative in the Swales workshop and explore the spectacular Welsh countryside.
